CHAIRMAN CONGRATULATES CARNIVAL

The 57^th AGM of the Clacton Carnival Association was held on Tuesday 16^th November chaired by the Chairman of Tendring District Council, Cllr Alan Goggin, in his role as Honorary President of the Carnival Association.

Mr John Sowton, Chairman, congratulated the Committee on another successful year with over £13,000 having been paid out in donations in October to many local causes.

Cllr Goggin applauded the Committee for their hard work and dedication saying that ‘Carnival is the Voluntary Sector at its very best, making Clacton a far better place to live.’

Officers elected to the Executive Committee for the coming year were: Chairman – John Sowton; Deputy Chairman – Charles Day; Treasurer – Linda Hills; Press/Publicity Officer – Nicky Freeman with Angela Theobald becoming the new Secretary.  Ex Officio members elected were Kerry Primmer and Paul Townend.
