Carnival Charity Search
Plans are already well underway
for Carnival 2009 and the Carnival Committee are now looking for a locally based
charity or organisation to be the main beneficiary from the Carnival Procession
on Saturday 8th August, which will be the start of their summertime fund-raising
week. The theme for this year is ‘Cartoons’.
For any group to apply, they are
looking for a worthy project of up to £4,000 which needs to be spent for the
benefit of the local community.
Over the past few years the
Association has been able to give vital donations to many local groups as a
result of the monies collected at their annual Carnival Procession, such as
Clacton and District Occupational Workshop, the Special Autistic Support Group,
Shopmobility, 1st Holland on sea Scouts, Essex Air Ambulance, St Helena Hospice,
RNLI, St. John Ambulance and many more.
All requests should be sent in
writing to the Carnival Secretary, Mrs B Dawson,
