CARNIVAL CHARITY SEARCH

  

During the coldest winter ever the Clacton Carnival Committee have been busy thinking ahead to a beautiful summer and planning their fun-packed Carnival Week in August.

They are now looking for a Clacton based charity or organisation which is needing funds of up to £4,000 for a project which will benefit people locally, to be the Main Charity for the Carnival Procession on Saturday 13th August, although the payout will not be until October. 

Last year 2 local groups received donations as a result of the collection at the Carnival Procession; the local branch of St John Ambulance received £1,700 to purchase a Portable Patient Monitor and Clacton Maternity Unit received £1,000 which they will use to buy equipment their Birthing Suite.   In the past few years the Carnival Committee have supported many other local groups with monies from the Procession:- Clacton and District Occupational Workshop, RNLI, St Helena Hospice Day Centre, 1st Holland Scouts to name but a few.

 Carnival 2011 actually gets underway with a Quiz Night, with local Quizmaster Adrian Robinson, on Friday 18th February at St James’ Church Hall, Clacton to raise funds for the dresses for this year’s Carnival Queen and her 2 Princesses who will be chosen later in the Spring.  To book in for the Quiz please phone 01255 426262.
