CARNIVAL
CHARITY SEARCH
During the coldest
winter ever the Clacton Carnival Committee have been busy thinking ahead to a
beautiful summer and planning their fun-packed Carnival Week in August.
They are now looking for a Clacton based charity or
organisation which is needing funds of up to £4,000 for a project which will
benefit people locally, to be the Main Charity for the Carnival Procession on
Saturday 13th August, although the payout will not be until October.
Last year 2 local groups
received donations as a result of the collection at the Carnival Procession; the
local branch of St John Ambulance received £1,700 to purchase a Portable Patient
Monitor and Clacton Maternity Unit received £1,000 which they will use to buy
equipment their Birthing Suite.
In
the past few years the Carnival Committee have supported many other local groups
with monies from the Procession:- Clacton and District Occupational Workshop,
RNLI, St Helena Hospice Day Centre, 1st Holland Scouts to name but a
few.
