Prizewinners with the Carnival Queen and her Princesses with Chairman, Paul Townend

We had a good Response to our invitation to local Schools and Youth Groups to take part in the Childrens Poster Competition - a total of 299 posters were submitted.

Four Schools and two youth groups took part.  We would like to thank John Chaston, who generously sponsored the competition and was a Judge along with Richard Widlake, Linda Bilby and Hayley Weller.

This year the Theme of Carnival is "Going for Gold" and the Posters included plenty of Gold medals in the spirit of the Olympics, as well as showing the upcoming Carnival events.

Prizes, Certificates and rosettes were presented to the winners by the Carnival Queen and her Princesses at the Presentation Evening held in St James Church Hall, Clacton on Wednesday 13th June. The winning posters are being displayed in Clacton Library from 16th June - 16th July.

Many thanks once again to all those who helped to make this year's Poster Competition such a success, including Clacton Library for acting as a collection and display point for posters, our Sponsor and Judges for taking on the challenging task, and lastly the Schools and Youth Groups for taking  part.
