JENINE TAKES THE CROWN

20 year old Jenine Davey has been crowned Clacton Carnival Queen for 2010.  Jenine has recently graduated in International Studies and Journalism and is a keen Girl Guide. 11 year old Teala Johnson, a pupil at Alton Park Junior School, and 10 year old Rebecca Sewell, a pupil at Cann Hall Primary School were chosen as her Princesses.

 

The Selection and Crowning took place at a Disco at the Kingscliff Hotel on Friday 26th March.  With 4 entries for Queen and 12 for Princess it as a closely fought contest.  The Judges were: Karen Keith, local singer; Sharon Rawlinson, Clacton Carnival Queen in 1977; John Harris, Vice-President, Lions Club of Clacton on sea and Gary Mulligan, well known DJ from Dream 100.

 

Jenine, Rebecca and Teala will be representing Clacton at various other Carnivals in the area throughout the summer and leading the Clacton Carnival Procession on Saturday 14th August, when the theme will be ‘Circus Time’.
